Ecosystem Services Analyst

Boise IDThe Freshwater Trust, a non-profit leader in stream and river restoration, is seeking an Ecosystem Services Analyst with a strong background in water quality or ecosystem analytics. This full-time position will be based in Boise, ID and will work closely with other members of the Science and Analytics Team, based in The Freshwater Trust’s Boise and Portland, OR offices. The Analyst will work with the team to develop rigorous systems and protocols to quantify the environmental and water quality benefits from a diverse range of agricultural management practices, on-farm structural actions and habitat restoration actions. The Ecosystem Services Analyst will receive training in the Portland office at the beginning of their employment. 

The Analyst must be a self-starter who is able to work in a dynamic, innovative and fast-paced environment. The position will focus on modeling, evaluation and design of water quality improvement strategies through changes to land use practices. The Ecosystem Services Analyst should have a solid understanding of conservation actions, agricultural practices and other land use changes that can be adopted to reduce both point and nonpoint source impacts and improve water quality.
