On-Call Biologist – Research Assistant to Assistant level

RECON is currently seeking an on-call Biologist (potential for part-time) in the southern Arizona area for our Tucson office.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 2-5 years’ environmental industry experience in Southern Arizona (Southern California experience also desirable), primarily with federally listed bird species, desert tortoise, and burrowing owl. Plant identification skills also desirable.

The qualified applicant must demonstrate initiative, good verbal and written communication skills, strong technical field skills, strong computer skills, and feel comfortable doing strenuous hiking and working in remote areas. Should be flexible with work assignments as location and types of assignments may vary. Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required. May be required to provide assistance with report writing and data management.
