Salem is looking for an enthusiastic individual for an internship in the Historic Preservation section of the Planning Division. This position will be a part-time internship position that is open to students with an interest in land use planning. The opportunity will allow you to work on a variety of historic preservation projects with our professional planning team.
The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, including, but not limited to: update and research existing survey material; plan and/or conduct historic sites surveys for resource identification or designation and Section 106 compliance; assist in the preparation of nominations for the local historic resource inventory and the National Register of Historic Places; scan files, and complete updates to the City’s historic GIS layer; assist the Historic Preservation Officer in preparation of public outreach materials; and assist in the facilitation of public meetings or outreach.
