Rainforest Trust seeks experienced international conservationists to develop and manage a growing portfolio of conservation projects across different regions of the tropics. Rainforest Trust is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 1988. Partnering with the most respected conservation organizations in the world’s tropical regions, Rainforest Trust supports the protection of critical habitat for endangered species through local partnership.

To date, we have saved over 18 million tropical habitat acres. We are an efficient organization, earning the top 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.

The successful candidate will have a personal passion for biodiversity conservation and several years of experience working on establishing and managing protected areas.

 

Position is based in our offices in Warrenton, VA.

 

Duties for this position include:

Manage a regional portfolio of protected area projects.

Guide priority setting to help identify future project sites.

Cultivate inter-institutional relationships to enhance Rainforest Trusts’ effectiveness and to leverage Rainforest Trust resources.

Manage and track implementation of Rainforest Trust protected area projects to ensure projects are on track, sustainable and partners are fully engaged.

Participate actively with Development and Communications staff in project fundraising and communication efforts.

 

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

A personal passion for biodiversity conservation.

A graduate degree in biological or environmental sciences a plus.

Minimum three years of experience in protected areas creation and management in the tropics.

A talent for program management.

Must be authorized to work in the US and able to work at our offices in Warrenton, VA.

 

Salary commensurate with experience.
