I am seeking a motivated graduate student to focus on environmental justice issues concerning water (Water Justice) at Portland State University. Applicants may investigate issues of gender, race, and class around water including flooding, clean water access, water conflicts, etc. Applicants may partake in the following: literature reviews, research design, qualitative data collection, data analysis, and manuscripts for publication. The ideal candidate has a prior degree in the social sciences, strong writing skills, experience working with community partners, and a background/interest in mixed (qualitative and quantitative) research methods. Portland State’s Earth, Environment and Society (EES) doctoral program offers unique training opportunities for students that come primarily from the Departments of Environmental Science and Management (ESM), Geography, and Geology, but may also be based in several other units in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
