Pay Rate:  $450 for half day camps, $900 for full day camps

Job Description: ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum is opening a call for summer camp proposals. Each summer camp instructor applicant can submit a proposal for one week of summer camp on a science topic of their choosing. Summer camps at ScienceWorks are split between three distinct grade ranges, Seekers K-2, Explorers 3-5, and Academy 6-8. By teaching a summer camp at ScienceWorks you have access to the museum, theater, classroom, and ScienceWorks materials. Camp instructors can teach up to 3 weeks during the summer.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Duties are performed in office, museum, and public environments. Duties require frequent standing for multi-hour periods to facilitate activities and perform demonstrations. Occasional lifting/carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds. Must be able to transport oneself to role-related assignments, meetings, events, etc.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working with youth in a formal classroom setting and an informal setting
• Flexible
• Knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience writing  educational curriculum
• Science background

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual
• Experience working with a diverse population
• Experience with Project Based Learning
• Experience in mixed-aged classrooms
