Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center is seeking 4 part-time educators to join our collaborative, dynamic, and dedicated team of Environmental Educators to teach our nature programs! We are a collaboration with the City of Bellevue and Pacific Science Center. You would be hired by and work for Pacific Science Center while working at the 320-acre biologically diverse wetland that is the Mercer Slough Nature Park in Bellevue, WA. Position is part time at 15-29.5 hours per week during the spring, starting February 25th and up to 40 hours each week during the summer months. Your weekly schedule will be set and assigned upon hire.
You will be joining a team of educators who share their passion and knowledge of the natural world with participants in Pre-K – 8th grade. You will lead a variety of hands-on place-based environmental education lessons both indoors and outdoors. Our programs include school field trips, guided nature walks for families, summer camps, and the option to work with our Weekend Programs team teaching Birthdays. The programs you teach serve diverse groups of students coming from King County and beyond. Applicants should have experience with outdoor education practices and have worked as a formal or informal educator. Knowledge of wetland ecology or local ecosystems is preferred.
