A rare opportunity to work on beautiful Mt. Desert Island near Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  The Acadia Institute of Oceanography seeks to recruit a teaching staff member to work with our bright 10-19 year olds.  One-week and two-week programs.  Teach at the shore, on board boat and in the lab working closely with other staff members to implement lessons.  Hiking, whale watching and working with great kids and staff are the perks of the job.  

Lead academic and recreational activities; must be able to drive or learn to drive a 15-passenger van which requires valid, clean driver’s license; participate in support duties such as dishes, clean up, etc.   Housing will alternate between dorm with students and rooming with other staff.

Seeking applicant with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in science related field and previous marine science teaching experience with kids.  Field teaching a plus.  Flexibility and a positive attitude are a must.   Season runs from June 23-August 23.  $380 per week plus room and board. Pre-season set up: June 18-22.
