Golder is seeking a well-qualified Environmental Remediation Engineer/Scientist to join our Mount Laurel, NJ office. This individual will support and manage environmental remediation projects through all aspects of data collection, management, and interpretation, with an emphasis on remedial alternative evaluations and remedial approach/system design. This individual will also assist with the preparation of technical documents including, but not limited to, work plans, reports, proposals, calculations, permit applications, and cost estimates and will interact with subcontractors, clients and regulators. Projects will include design and implementation of environmental remedies with guidance from the project team and senior practitioners; groundwater, surface water, soil, and air sampling; environmental site assessments and compliance assessments; regulatory permitting; and treatment system operation, maintenance and monitoring. Position will require some travel and fieldwork.
Additional position responsibilities will include the ability to:
Demonstrate proficiency in the fields of environmental engineering, geochemistry, and/or environmental science;
Evaluate analytical data and identify, develop, and manage the strategic solutions for our clients;
Prepare state and federal level reports and other deliverables;
Supervise, coordinate, and assist in review and evaluation of subsurface investigation activities carried out by junior engineers and scientists including: drilling, soil classification, vapor intrusion investigation, well installation, and sampling of various media using a variety of techniques and procedures;
Assist in preparation of state and federal level reports and other correspondence with client representatives and regulators regarding contaminated site investigations, feasibility studies, remedial activities and operation and maintenance.
Assist in preparation of proposals (scope, schedule, and budget);
Simultaneously manage multiple projects through all phases of development; and
Communicate clearly and and consistently the importance of health and safety.
Requirements:
B.S. (minimum) in Environmental Engineering, Geochemistry and/or Environmental Science, or similar earth science, M.S. preferred
A minimum of 5 years of environmental project experience, including project management, proposal writing, client contact, and regulatory interaction.
Desirable Skills:
Strong computer skills including Word and Excel. Specialized computer skills including database applications, and/or numerical modeling for contaminant fate and transport desirable;
Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills;
Proficiency with managing, manipulating, and interpreting large data sets;
Leadership ability with a positive attitude;
Ability to work independently and within groups;
Team management skills, including the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders; and
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training
