Job Overview
Reporting to the Senior Development Director, the Partnership Manager works in close collaboration with events, communications, and program staff to ensure exceptional cultivation, solicitation, activation, and fulfillment of all sponsorship relationships for Cascade Bicycle Club, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and Washington Bikes, a (501)(c)(4) nonprofit affiliated with Cascade.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acquisition, contracting, fulfillment, reporting and stewardship of $600,000 – $750,000 in cash sponsorships and $200,000 in in-kind sponsorships
- Service a portfolio of 75 partners (including 25 highly active partners) and 20-30 prospective partners
- Stay abreast of sponsorship best practices through industry publications and research into similar events
- Coordinate and collaborate across multiple teams including events, education, and advocacy on contract creation and fulfillment
- Attend all bicycling events where major sponsors have a presence
- Work in collaboration with communications team to ensure correct placement of logos and other contracted obligations in social media and publications
- Work with sponsors to craft messaging for Cascade’s audiences
- Create customized sponsorship packages based on partner’s business objectives that integrate with Cascades events and programs
- Support Cascade initiatives around diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Other duties as assigned
KEY PROPERTIES
- The Bike Everywhere Breakfast (April/May – 1000 people)
- The Seattle to Portland (July – 10,000 riders)
- Emerald Bike Ride (April – 8,000 riders)
- Bike Month (May – 20,000 people)
- 12 additional recreational riding events ranging in size from several hundred to several thousand participants
- Several other minor properties including 12 sponsor-wrapped trailers and bicycle education programs such as the Major Taylor Project and Let’s Go bicycle education program
- The Cascade Bicycling Center – includes several naming opportunities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to create individual sponsor strategies
- Ability to create, communicate and track performance to a plan
- Creative, able to come up with out-of the-box ideas for sponsorship activation that feel authentic and add value for the sponsor and, ideally, Cascade
- Strong project management skills – create and adhere to deadlines
- Exceptional detail orientation for tracking and following leads
- Familiarity with data tracking (spreadsheets as well as Salesforce)
- Customer service orientation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in sales account management
- Exceptional listening skills
- Comfortable presenting to high level executives
- Experience designing reports and proposals (InDesign or Publisher experience a plus)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years experience in sponsorship or partnership management
- Experience with Salesforce
- Interest in cycling a huge plus
STARTING SALARY RANGE
$60,000-70,000/annual
This is a full-time, exempt position.
Due to the large-scale nature of events and their importance to the fiscal well being of Cascade and WA Bikes, staff members are required to work several events a year, a mix of mandatory all-hands events and choice events. This position may also require some evening and weekend work.

Approximately 80% of this role is responsible to Cascade Bicycle Club and 20% is responsible to Washington Bikes. Staffing and support for Washington Bikes is governed by an Administrative Services Agreement between the c3 and c4.
