The third annual Olympic Experimental State Forest (OESF) science conference is coming up, and you are cordially invited!

Join the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) on April 24, 2019 (Wednesday) from 8.30 am to 4:00 pm at the Rainforest Arts Center in Forks, Washington (35 N. Forks Avenue).

The theme is linking science to natural resource management. Scientists from DNR and other organizations will present updates on research projects taking place in the OESF in the fields of silviculture, aquatic and riparian ecology, ethnoforestry, and social science.

Morning presentations will be followed by an afternoon session on the use of remote sensing in the management of state trust lands. DNR experts will describe and demonstrate the use of LIDAR, aerial photography, and drone imagery for forest inventory, silviculture monitoring, and mapping of streams and wetlands.

Although the event is free, registration is required. To register, send an email with the words “Yes I will attend” in the subject line to Jessica Huggins at Jessica.Huggins@dnr.wa.gov. Please register no later than April 20th.
