Job Description.
Paleo Solutions, Inc. (Paleo Solutions) is currently seeking a Cultural Resources Regional Manager to manage and expand our cultural resources program and team. The successful candidate will be an innovative, energetic, and driven team member. The candidate will manage and mentor cultural resources staff, lead and grow the program, develop and manage projects, oversee professional development of the staff, maintain cultural resources permits, ensure the highest professional quality of deliverables, meet project deadlines, and lead business development and marketing efforts for the program. The candidate must be able to write at a professional level and present ideas in a thoughtful and comprehensive manner. The successful candidate will be a part of an interdisciplinary team of archaeologists and paleontologists, working closely with our Chief Scientific Officer that oversees our Paleontology Program to develop scientifically sound approaches to projects. The position will be based in our Monrovia, California office.

Position Description & Responsibilities.
- Winning and executing projects and leading all aspects of project implementation.
- Leading the business development and proposal side of the cultural resources program.
- Managing staff and all their activities, including record searches, field inventories, construction monitoring, reporting, testing, and data recovery.
- Hiring and training new staff and mentoring existing staff.
- Authoring and/or contributing to reports.
- QA/QC oversight of all deliverables.
- QA/QC review of field work, including site forms and all other data.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Staying current with educational and permitting requirements.
- Communicating effectively with Paleo Solutions’ staff.
- Maintaining an excellent relationship with Native American Tribes.
- Adherence to ethical business practices and best practices in cultural resources management.
- Interfacing with clients, including attendance at project team or scoping meetings, as needed.
- Ability to effectively discuss all aspects of a cultural resources project to non-specialist clients and the general public, including cultural resources regulatory requirements, methodology, findings, research questions, and results.
- Managing and maintaining client relationships.
- Managing all aspects of projects, including schedule, budgets, change orders, deliverables, and close out.
Application Evaluation Criteria.
- Advanced degree in, archaeology, anthropology historical archaeology, or related field required.
- 10+ years of experience in cultural resources investigations, preparing site records, technical reports, proposals, technical reviews, peer reviews, and business development.
- 5+ years of experience supervising cultural resources investigations field investigations.
- Must have experience with Section 106, NEPA, CEQA, and other cultural resources laws and regulations.
- Ability to plan, staff, organize, and supervise a cultural resources program from field technicians to crew chiefs to project managers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects concurrently and submit final reports on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to identify prehistoric- and historic-age artifacts and cultural features
- Good leadership qualities, strong technical skills, and self-motivation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to closely follow instructions, attention to detail, organizational skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- The ambition to build and grow a cultural resources group that is a formidable competitor in California with the possibility of later expanding to other regions.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
