Description
The senior analyst works as part of the lidar calibration team ensuring the execution of processing tasks and following the appropriate workflows. The senior analyst directly supports the technical specialists and the team leader in developing and testing efficiency improvements while supporting data production of calibrated lidar data from multiple sensor platforms. The senior analyst has knowledge of all aspects of lidar processing workflows, performs rigorous QA/QC, and assists in training of analysts and technicians.
Responsibilities
Production Focus Opens a New Window.
● Produce calibrated LAS files from raw lidar data
● Write reports for internal and client-oriented uses
● Support Technical Specialists and the team leader on daily tasks
● Develop processing workflows and efficiency improvements
● Demonstrate leadership
● Take ownership of work within the team for execution and QA/QC
Technical Focus
● Demonstrate good judgement in the selection of the methods and techniques in problem resolution and troubleshooting
● Excellent technical writing skills and the ability to take complex information and convey it easily
● Ability to improve workflow processes
● Perform rigorous QA/QC and data finalization practices
● Excellent technical ability with ESRI, CAD and lidar based software
● Ability to understand and apply tools written in programming languages relevant to the industry
● Produce data reports and final deliverables
● Ability to automate workflows and tasks
● Take initiative to improve processes and efficiencies
● Strong creative aptitude and ability to contribute to the development of the unique methods
Operations Focus
● Assist in process and protocol training
● Assist in execution of internal projects and special initiatives
● Creation of and implementation of special programs
● Manage and support the day-to-day operations of the team
● Assist in contract review

● Critical thinking when reviewing and following project contracts and scope of work
● Successfully execute and prioritizes tasks individually and in collaboration with the Team Leader
● Provide and receive feedback to/from associates across all levels

● Demonstrated successful experience working with lidar data collection softwares (Reigl, Leica, etc.)
● Consistently produce precise and accurate work
● Maintain excellent data management and file organization practices
●Perform statistical analysis of data accuracy and specification
● Demonstrate problem solving ability across software platforms
● Show flexibility when being tasked
● Ability to work well within a team environment
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Provide oversight of tasking to ensure benchmarks and priorities are met

Minimum Qualifications
● 2 years of Analyst or equivalent experience
● 1+ years of experience in a professional work environment
● Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, or engineering; or equivalent experience directly related geospatial data processing
● Advanced knowledge of lidar data collection sensors and softwares
● Advanced knowledge of ESRI or vector-based software and TerraSolid products
● Programming experience
● Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Drive

● Master’s degree or higher in natural resources, environmental science, or engineering
● Programming experience in Python, ArcPy, C++, R
