Dear Colleagues,

ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of Preservation and Restoration of Culture) has announced the eighth international course on First Aid to Cultural heritage in Times of Crisis. This year, thanks to a special grant from Swedish Postcode Foundation, and the support of partners such as the Smithsonian Institution and Prince Claus Fund, the course will be held within the framework of a special project entitled, Culture Cannot Wait: Heritage for Peace and Resilience. Project activities will include pre-and post-training mentoring (mostly online ) for 8 months, Field projects to generate two new learning packages on community based disaster risk management and using heritage for building peace and resilience, and seed grants to support post training field projects of the course participants. The additional unique feature is that this year we are making a special effort to attract applications from professionals working in the fields of emergency response, humanitarian aid and disaster risk management. The course will also interest leaders of voluntary or civic action groups. Please help us to disseminate the short version of the course announcement through your respective networks and distribution lists that you subscribe to. Last year for two international course we received 278 applications. This year we hope that with our combined efforts we will receive at least 180 or more applications! I thank you in advance for you help!

Kind regards
