Dear Colleagues,

The Geography Department at the Université de Montréal is recruiting a doctoral student in human geography for September 2019 to work on a topic related to one or several of the following: water/political ecology/resources/infrastructure/urbanization/urban services.

The person would have guaranteed funding of 20 000$/year for the first two years (2019-2020 & 2020-2021). For subsequent years, the student would be assisted in the development of a SSHRC and/or FRQSC doctoral funding application. The FRQSC doctoral scholarship is open to Canadian residents as well as non-residents who have resided in Quebec for 6 months. Foreign students would also be eligible for a scholarship (the bourse C), offered by the Université de Montréal, which covers the difference between foreign and domestic fees.

The Université de Montréal offers the possibility to submit one’s work in one of three languages: French, English and Spanish. As such, students can write their comprehensive exams and thesis in either of these languages. The university also offers French lessons for non-francophones at the graduate level.

If interested, please contact me – Kathryn Furlong – by email (Kathryn.furlong@umontreal.ca) or telephone (+1-514-451-8104).

All the best and thanks,
