Our Portland, OR office is seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist/Water Resources Scientist. Candidates should have broad interests in all types of water resources and other natural resources management and educational background to address projects that may include:
- Stream and river restoration;
- NEPA analysis;
- Performing wetland delineations;
- Biological studies and monitoring;
- ESA compliance analysis and Biological Assessment preparation;
- Preparing and overseeing development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401;
- Water quality sampling and analysis;
- Assisting in business development for biological/environmental work.
Qualifications
Requirements/Qualifications
- BS or MS in Environmental Sciences, Biology/Ecology, or Geography with emphasis in natural resources management;
- General understanding of engineering principles is desired but not required;
- Knowledge of general ecological processes, particularly aquatic ecosystems;
- Experience developing monitoring plans;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Experience preparing reports, NEPA and ESA documentation;
- Strong GIS skills
