Donor Stewardship and Cultivation (50%)
Member cultivation and stewardship: grow member base, set and reach targets annually
Create and execute a major donor work plan including donor research, profiles, cultivation, requests for support and stewardship
Cultivate and grow corporate sponsorship
Coordinate fundraising efforts of Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff and volunteers
Grant Writing (25%)
Manage proposal creation in concert with stated goals of Executive Director and Board of Directors
Build upon past grant successes and deepen engagement with funders
Research and engage with new foundations and corporations to match our ongoing needs
Communications (25%)
Provide strategy for integrated communications across all relevant platforms (email list serve, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIN, Twitter) to drive engagement levels
Requirements of Position
Proven track record of securing substantial financial support for a mission-driven organization
Minimum of five years’ experience in non-profit development and donor relations
Knowledge of diverse fundraising strategies and their implementation
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
Experience with grant writing and reporting
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective public speaker
Skilled database administration, experience with Donor Perfect preferred
Previous capital campaign experience preferred
Strong network in the Pacific Northwest preferred
Position Type/Compensation
Full-time salaried position of 40 hours a week, with flex time work arrangements also considered
Starting salary range of $50,000-$65,000
Health insurance – medical, vision, dental – with Opal Creek Ancient Forest Center covering 80% of the premium
17 days of PTO for each of the first three years of employment plus 8 paid holidays
