Summary

Collect, compile, research, document, and analyze spatial data. Design, program, and document map automation projects. Manage the development, analysis and display of GIS databases. Respond to requests for a variety of GIS generated products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage spatial databases and GIS applications and projects.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of spatial data.
• Remain current in trends and technology relating to GIS and NSB Information Systems.
• Respond to specific data or cartographic product requests by following the established GIS operation procedures.
• Answer routine questions on GIS.
• Work with NSB employees and the public to create custom GIS products.
• Represent the GIS Division in meetings and conferences with NSB and other agencies.
• Research and prepare cartographic and related materials for reports, studies, publications, and presentations.
• Coordinate the requirements for digital cartography with requesters, the GIS System Analyst and the GIS Senior Analyst.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies and procedures.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required:
High school graduate or G.E.D./ or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience;

Two years of work experience in GIS or equivalent field, including ArcInfo and ArcView.
