Parametrix is seeking a Senior Scientist to join our outstanding team of environmental scientists in Seattle. This role is a key position within the Environmental Planning & Compliance team and will be supported by a team of other natural resources professionals in Portland and Albuquerque specializing in wetlands, NEPA/SEPA, ESA compliance, botany, wildlife, and/or fisheries-related multi-disciplinary environmental project work.

 

WHO YOU ARE:

Experienced: Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in environmental science, botany, soils, or fisheries, or a related field and 10+ years of related experience (5+ years in a consulting role in the Pacific Northwest) in wetlands, restoration, integrated watersheds, and/or biology within Pacific Northwest ecosystems with related multi-disciplinary environmental project work. PWS required. Leadership and mentoring experience highly preferred.

Skilled in Project Management and Business Development: Demonstrated experience and success in managing, executing, and delivering complex projects as well as developing client relationships and marketing environmental services. Proven history of strong client relationships in Washington; Oregon and Idaho, a plus.

Relationship-focused: This visible, senior professional role will focus on project management and delivery, business development, client development and staff mentoring, so relationship building is key. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, “team player” attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, agency staff, and co-workers are essential.

Knowledgeable: Working knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations/permitting relevant to aquatic resources, wetlands, and endangered species. Experience in NEPA, SEPA, and critical areas documentation and in linear projects preferred. Understanding and experience in ecosystem/watershed management, habitat restoration, mitigation design, and monitoring are essential.

Excel at Communication: High quality technical writing, interpersonal and oral communication, and computer software skills are required. GPS/ArcGIS experience is a plus.

Project management for wetland delineations, wetland function assessments, vegetation surveys, impact assessments, mitigation planning, permitting and regulatory compliance, agency coordination, and data analysis and interpretation.
