Central Colorado Conservancy is seeking an innovative and dynamic Executive Director to build on steady growth and to help take the organization to the next level of impact within the current strategic plan. The opportunity is based in Salida, Colorado. The stunning mountain community is experiencing rapid growth in population and visitation. Land and water conservation on private agricultural lands and on public lands is an urgent challenge. Area citizens are supportive, having passed a cutting-edge ballot measure in 2018, funding healthy lands, waters, and wildlife. Central Colorado Conservancy leads the regional conservation efforts, protecting not only land and water, but also a special quality of life. The Conservancy protects open lands using traditional tools and new approaches to keep working lands working. It protects local quality of life by leading innovative programs that engage the community to develop new approaches to enhance forest health and help manage the impacts of outdoor recreation growth.
