Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of marine wildlife biology and statistics to help set priorities and develop proposals and study plans for high priority marine birds and other island-dwelling and nearshore marine wildlife.
- Prepares and presents written and verbal briefings on major conservation issues for managers and others.
- Provides expert advice to resource professionals at the Federal, State and local levels on technical, scientific or policy matters pertaining to ecosystems.
- Plans and coordinates field studies and provides technical oversight of technicians and volunteers.
- Provide long-range resource planning, program direction, coordination and evaluation of wildlife management and related activities for sites within the conservation estate.
- Establishes appropriate databases for data on marine wildlife and habitats.
