Do you lead workshops or speak at conferences? Washington Nonprofits’ “Train the Trainer” series continues next week.

TRAINERS AS LEADERS
Tuesday, October 8, 2019
9:00AM – 12:00PM
12th Avenue Arts, Seattle

Trainers are leaders. When you step to the front of a classroom, you become the leader of the room. You bring privileges and responsibilities that impact how people learn. You are also a leader within your organization as you advocate for learning that improves programs. You must move forward your training strategy within the larger structure of your organization. Why is it helpful to understand your role in the context of leadership? How can you use leadership concepts to strengthen your impact inside and outside the classroom?

Using a framework for leadership based on the classic essay The Servant Leader by Robert K. Greenleaf, we will align characteristics of effective leadership with those involved in effective training. We will look at how to put into practice issues like putting participants first, caring, and listening. Over the course of the workshop, you will develop your own philosophy of leadership and apply it to your work.
