Philanthropic Operations Intern (Vulcan Philanthropy)
Paid Summer Internship – Seattle, WA

The Philanthropy Summer Associate will be an integral part of Vulcan Philanthropy’s team, supporting ongoing operation processes and workstreams related to the execution of grant agreements, knowledge management, and reporting on VPH operations and impact.
Projects and Responsibilities
- Design and maintain information management tools and processes to assist operations teams with measuring, monitoring and reporting on Vulcan Philanthropy programmatic activities
- Document current philanthropic business processes, ideally identify areas for continuous learning and improvement upon current processes
- Provide recommendations to add and enhance processes and metrics in our data warehouse that would optimize analysis
- Manage ad hoc analysis for operations and grants management team
- Synthesize and prioritize findings into clear reporting
Desired Skills and Experience
- Currently pursuing an MBA, MPA or comparable program
- Interest in philanthropy/social impact required; past professional experience in public/private funding or grant-making a plus
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy
- Comfortable with navigating ambiguity and complex organizational dynamics
- Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects and initiatives
- Strong communication skills: written, verbal, presentation skills
