This fall semester, the Rachel Carson Council (RCC) launched its first, highly successful RCC Fellowship Program, selecting seven RCC Fellows who work on environmental projects from their campuses for the RCC. The RCC is now announcing the opening of applications for the 2020-21 academic year. The RCC Fellowship Program is designed to identify excellent and active students with a passion for sustainability and environmental justice and help them make change on their campuses, communities and beyond.

RCC Fellows are selected competitively based on their experience, a faculty sponsor and a project proposal sent to the Rachel Carson Council. If accepted, RCC Fellows become a valuable, recognized part of the professional team of a respected national organization, receive a $2,000 stipend over the course of the academic year (2020-21), a trip to Washington DC this summer for training, year-round support and mentoring from RCC staff, and the opportunity to publish about their work through RCC.

Our current class of RCC Fellows is engaged in a number of ambitious projects such as campaigns for solar energy, ocean protection and advocacy, and divestment on campuses. Most campuses have one or two outstanding students who work hard to make a difference, but may not always get recognition or remuneration for their efforts. The RCC Fellows Program is designed for them!  You can learn more about our current fellows here.

As members of our the RCC Campus Network, we wanted to make sure that you were aware of this opportunity and would love it if we were able to have an RCC Fellow selected for your campus.

The application for the RCC Fellowship Program is now live. You may find it here. The application deadline is May 1st.
