The Student Conservation Association is seeking a Forestry / Natural Resources Technician for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest. This position will serve as a natural resource generalist with regards to forest management and natural resource projects. Personnel will be required to work in the field on a variety of tasks, such as timber sale preparation, silviculture, wetland delineation, vegetation and wildlife surveys. The encumbent will be required to work as a member of a team and, occasionally, be required to lead a team in tasks. Some familiarity with natural resources, GIS and forest management is needed. Other multifunctional work may be performed, as assigned. The encumbent must be willing to use personal protective equipment and be willing to drive own vehicle with mileage reimbursement. Security and safety compliance will be required. Encumbent may be required to attend training.
Compensation amounts: – $1,100- one time RT travel allowance – $275 – weekly living allowance – $1,100- monthly housing allowance – $1,500 Reimbursable Duty Travel allowance – $500 Reimbursable PPE/ Additional Clothing budget

Note: the advertised start date of June 1st is contingent upon the NAVFAC office resuming normal (open) operations after current work-at-home orders are lifted and the Task Order to be awarded. Interview & Selection will take place in May. Consequently, the start date may be delayed.
