Responsible for the effective management of marketing communications strategies for key company initiatives and issues. Identifies opportunities to raise awareness of the company’s mission, values and objectives among a variety of audiences. Through cross-functional collaboration, excellent team building and management, this position will be a key strategic team member, providing input to the strategic planning process and developing a compelling narrative for communicating the company’s commitment to its customers and stakeholders.

• Leads the marketing communications component of strategic company initiatives and issues. This includes development and implementation of marketing communications plans, campaign execution and optimization to meet goals and objectives, campaign reporting and performance tracking, budget accountability, team coordination and project management.
• Identifies and prioritizes the key initiative and issue risks and develops the marketing communications strategy that addresses each risk in a timely and efficient manner.
• Provides input into the development of the department’s strategic planning process and input into the evolution of PSE’s communication strategies and approaches, including new media technology, consumer engagement strategies and processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, advertising, media, business innovation, strategic leadership/management or related field, and 7 years relevant work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Direct experience in marketing communications with consumer and/or institutional customers within a corporate and/or advertising, public relations or creative agency environment.
• Proven experience managing increasingly complex projects with cross-functional teams and in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment.
• Proven experience developing a customer/market research plan and utilizing research findings to inform and improve upon marketing campaign performance, strategies and tactics.
• Experience managing marketing tactical and campaign budgets to goal, and managing or collaborating with external advertising or creative agencies.
• Proven understanding of brand advocacy and corporate reputation building.
• Track record of innovation and creative thinking.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Advanced degree in strategic leadership or management.
• LEAN certification, Project Management certification or Six Sigma certification.
• Broad knowledge of gas and electric utility rates, business objectives, to include operations, customer service, finance, and corporate relations.
