Call for Papers: “Vulnerability and resilience in the global south: Human adaptations for sustainable futures”
The International Climate Change Information and Research Programme (ICCIRP)
is engaging on a new book as part of the award-winning “Climate Change
Management” book series published by Springer, which since its creation in 2008 has become the world´s leading book series on climate change management:
whose title is “Vulnerability and resilience in the global south: Human adaptations for sustainable futures”.
We are welcoming all experienced researchers to submit chapter for the above mentioned book to be published by Springer. This book attempts to provide an understanding of vulnerability, resilience and adaptation strategies in the developing countries, and how that can contribute to sustainable development futures. The special issue welcomes theoretical, empirical, experimental, and case study research contributions. The topics may include but are not limited to the following:
Understanding of geographies of vulnerability
Processes, responses and experiences in vulnerability and resilience: Case studies
Climate change adaptation and sustainable development
Livelihood vulnerability processes and indicators
Socio-economic vulnerability: theory, research and practice
Dynamics of drivers of vulnerability
Emerging and innovative research methods and methodologies on human system adaptations
Urban/rural sustainability and resilience
Urban/rural human system adaptations
Institutional and ethical dimensions of resilience
Climate change, vulnerability and food security
Climate change and migration
Climate resilient futures
Other topics may be considered, and interested authors are invited to contact the editorial team with suggestions.
This will be a high profile book, to be widely cited in the literature, and offers an excellent addition to one´s CV. The peer-reviewed nature of the publications in the book series “Climate Change Management” means that they have over the years officially counted for promotion and tenure purposes. Nearly 2.000 authors from round the world have had the opportunity to document and promote their work in one of the publications of the series.

The deadline for abstracts is 15th September 2020. Full papers are due by 20th November 2020, and the book is expected to be published in March 2021.
