The Institute of Hydrology and Water Resources Management at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science invites applications for a PhD Position (m/f/d) “Projection of ground water levels for Lower Saxony” (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to two years, with a possible extension.
Required tasks
The position is to be filled within an integrated project on “Estimation of climate induced change of ground water levels in Lower Saxony”. The subproject of the Leibniz University Hannover is dealing with the development and application of statistical methods for the projection of climate induced change of future ground water levels.
Employment conditions
The applicant must hold a master degree in hydrology, civil engineering with specialization in water sciences, meteorology or equivalent. We expect above-average marks. Wanted is a person with scientific capabilities, who is working methods-oriented and has sufficient knowledge in both Hydrology and Statistics. Computer programming and skills are mandatory. Also, good proficiency in German and English languages is required. In addition, candidates are expected to write a doctorate.
Part-time employment can be arranged on request, as long as the offered workplace is covered in full extend.
