The Audubon Society of Portland, a leading organization in environmental education for over a century, is recruiting for a full time Environmental Educator to deliver off-site children’

s education programs, including traveling programs, full day field trips and overnighters.

The Environmental Educator is an integral member of the Education Department team that serves over 14,000 Portland area youth and 1,000 adult participants each year. Through Sanctuary Tours, in-class Traveling Programs, full-day Field Trips and week-long Summer Camp excursions the Audubon Society of Portland continues to inspire children to love and protect nature.

In coordination with other education program staff, the Environmental Educator will provide registration services for Traveling Programs, field excursions and other activities. The Environmental Educator will present existing traveling and field programs to the public and design, develop and produce new programs. This position requires thorough knowledge of Pacific Northwest natural history, a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in natural science, science education, environmental studies or an equivalent number of years of experience working in the field of environmental education. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience with children in an informal outdoor setting.

Pay range for this position is from $28,754 to $44,928. The selected candidate can expect a starting salary between $28,754 and $35,900 depending upon experience.
