DESCRIPTION:  The University of Redlands invites applications for a tenure-track position in Environmental Studies. The ideal candidate will be an integrative Environmental Scientist with expertise in water resources (such as hydrology, water conservation, restoration and remediation, and/or wetland science) and especially western U.S. water resources, and a secondary emphasis in geology (including soils). A doctoral degree or terminal degree in a relevant environmental field is required. Multidisciplinary training in environmental science, policy and management is preferred.  Teaching load is 6 courses per year, one of which may be offered as an intensive seminar or travel course during the month of May.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree or terminal degree in a relevant environmental field is required.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: for this position include: research interests that demonstrate understanding of complex environmental systems and their interaction with human social systems; ability to contribute to our Environmental Business or Environmental Policy Programs, practical experience in environmental problem-solving; GIS skills; and an ability to thrive in an undergraduate program, within a small private liberal arts university, where excellence in teaching is highly valued. An ideal candidate will enrich interdisciplinary offerings on campus through course offerings and advising.
