ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

FOOD POLICY

The School of Public Affairs at Baruch College invites applications for a scholar of food policy. The start date is August 2014, the rank is assistant or associate professor, and the appointment is tenure-track.  The candidate must have obtained a doctorate before the position start date.  He/she should possess an interest in working with an ethnically and racially diverse student body. Excellence in teaching, a commitment to research, and the willingness to participate in university and public service is expected.

Areas of specialization of primary interest include food production and distribution, food security, food choice and diet-related health outcomes, access to healthy food, and agriculture and nutrition policy. We are particularly interested in scholars whose work has both domestic and global implications. The candidate should have a strong commitment to building a series of food policy elective courses for students in our BS and MPA programs in coordination with other public affairs faculty. In addition, the candidate must teach core courses in statistics and quantitative research methods or microeconomics at the Masters level. We seek candidates who are interested in a multidisciplinary setting.
