Parsons Brinckerhoff is a global consulting firm assisting public and private clients to plan, develop, design, construct, operate, and maintain thousands of critical infrastructure projects around the world. Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Portland, Oregon office has an immediate need for an Environmental Planner/Environmental Scientist. Responsibilities will include preparing environmental documents in compliance with applicable governing statutes and implementing regulations; providing environmental planning support in the design of infrastructure projects, and supporting agency involvement, permitting, and public participation activities.

 

The person in this position will join a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environmental planning team to help support transportation and energy projects in Oregon and SW Washington. The position is ideal for an environmental planner or environmental scientist seeking career growth and challenging work in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment. He/she will also be flexible and willing to support built environment tasks (e.g., land use, socioeconomics, visual quality) and natural resource tasks (e.g., biology, botany).

 

Candidates should have a background in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); experience in transportation and energy projects, particularly highway, transit, and transmission line; be able to support the analysis of environmental impacts to the built environment and the natural environment, and be able to manage tasks in a collaborative setting with multiple disciplines.
