The Shorelands and Environmental Assistance (SEA) program helps communities manage shorelands and wetlands. Our primary focus is on state and local responsibilities for administering Washington state and federally-delegated laws. Our mission is to work in partnership with communities to support healthy watersheds and promote statewide environmental interests.

The SEA program’s Northwest Regional Office (NWRO) in Bellevue, WA is looking for a Capital Budget Flood Projects Manager (Environmental Planner 2).

This position is a project manager for flood reduction and multi-benefit projects around the state. The position is responsible for assisting the HQ Floodplain Management Leads and Regional Floodplain Specialists in managing grants to local sponsors for multi-benefit flood projects. Working under the guidance of the Floodplain Management Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for communication with local sponsors of projects, coordinating with the Regional Project Managers on issues around the implementation of flood projects, and assisting in long-term planning and implementation of the Competitive flood grants program. Specific duties include assisting in drafting flood grants, assisting the Floodplain Management Lead with program development of the floods grants program, assisting Regional Floodplain Mangers with grant tracking and collection of deliverables, and communication and coordination with local sponsors. This position will also be responsible for assisting the Floodplain Management Lead in coordinating with other agencies at the local, state, and federal agency level.

This is a project position currently funded until June 2017.
