Job Description
The Grants Coordinator will support the grant making process of the Legal Foundation of Washington. The Coordinator will help administer grants, prepare information about grantees for the foundation and supporters, and build relationships with grantee organizations. The successful candidate will have an eye for detail, possess strong organizational skills and be an excellent communicator. We are seeking someone interested in a long-term professional engagement with funding social justice issues.
Duties
* Track grantees’ applications and reporting deadlines
* Maintain up to date information about grantees, including program performance data
* Prepare reports about grantee performance for staff, board members, and partners
* Help identify needs and provide technical assistance to grantees to operate effectively
* Participate in the development and implementation of systems for grants administration
* Occasional coordination of training and networking events for grantees
* Assist with other organizational duties as needed
Desired Background and Attributes
The preferred candidate will have an aptitude for managing complex information, paying close attention to detail while keeping the larger context in mind. There will be many opportunities to communicate with grantee programs about grant requirements and reporting, and the ability to be friendly yet firm is important.
The Grants Coordinator will work in a small office environment, often collaborating with others to further the mission of the Legal Foundation and its partner organizations. We value people who bring a passion for justice, collegiality and a sense of fun to the workplace.
The Grants Coordinator must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, and generally be computer savvy. Experience with database or case management systems is desirable, but training will be provided as needed.
Minimum 2-year degree plus grant or project management experience preferred.
Salary and Benefits
This is a half-time (20- hours/week) position located in Seattle, WA, with some flexibility about the work schedule. A competitive compensation and benefits package will be offered based on the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience.
