ARCOSANTI
An urban laboratory focused on innovative design, community and environmental accountability. Our goal is to actively pursue lean alternatives to urban sprawl based on Paolo Soleri’s theory of compact city design, arcology [architecture and ecology].

Registration is now open for the 2014 Arcosanti Workshop Programs, offered as 1-, 2- and 5-week sessions beginning in February.

EXPLORE ARCOLOGY [architecture and ecology]

Over 7000 people from around the globe have participated in the Arcosanti workshop program since 1970. The built environment of Arcosanti is entirely the result of workshop participation.

WORKSHOP
The Arcosanti Workshop program is offered nine times per year as a 1-, 2- or 5-week intensive engagement with the principles and applications of arcology.

1-week participants receive detailed lectures and guided tours of all aspects of the project, the site and its history.

2-week participants spend time at Cosanti, Paolo Soleri’s historic home and studio, and tour various architectural landmarks in the Phoenix area.

5-week participants contribute directly to the expansion of Arcosanti through involvement in current projects, and may arrange to stay on as interns or volunteers contingent upon successful completion of the full workshop program.
