The Malheur National forest will be hiring biological science technicians for plants (GS-4-6 depending on experience) for this upcoming field season.  The maximum tour of duty will be six months, these are 1039 temporary appointments.  Sick leave and annual leave will be provided, but no health or life insurance.

This will be a great opportunity for students and others to get an idea of how Forest Service rare plant and weed surveys are done.  The area will be the entire Malheur National Forest.  This is in the southern Blue Mountains, mostly in Grant County, OR.

Government housing will probably not be available.  Rental apartments are relatively inexpensive and readily available.

Note that the jobs are open right now, and close soon, March 17th!

If you have any questions about the positions, please contact Joe Raush at 541-575-3141.  Email: jhrausch@fs.fed.us
