Information Sessions to Recruit Volunteers for 2014 “Stormwater Stewards”
Program

Two information sessions will be offered for volunteers interested in
applying for the 2014 Stormwater Stewards training. Sessions will be held
on April 14, at 10-11 a.m. and 6-7 p.m., at the Thurston County WSU
Extension Office at 5033 Harrison Ave. NW.

The Stormwater Stewards program works with local residents to help reduce
pollution in our local waterways and Puget Sound from stormwater runoff.

The upcoming information sessions will provide an overview of the training
that Stormwater Steward volunteers will receive, including skills in
on-site stormwater management strategies such as rain gardens, water-wise
plants, pervious pavements, vegetated roofs, and more. Trained volunteers
use their new expertise to work in teams to provide guidance to homeowners
who want to do their part to protect local waterways and Puget Sound.
