Therapeutic Classroom Teacher
The Therapeutic Classroom Teacher position responsibilities include planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities to meet the individual needs of young children between the ages of 1 month to 5 years in a care and treatment program.
Therapeutic Classroom Teacher II positions require BA/BS in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field with one year experience; AA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field and at least five years experience; or a HSD/GED and nine years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in related field/or experience with no degree may require a minimum 9 units in ECE/Child Development; a valid driver’s license; and a safe driving record. $13.32/hour starting pay. Currently there are positions available at our Broadway, Burien and Auburn locations
Therapeutic Classroom Teacher III (Lead) positions require BA/BS in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field with two years experience; AA in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field and at least six years experience; CDA and 10 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. $14.82/hour starting pay. Currently there are positions available at our Burien location.
*Degree in related field requires twenty clock hours or two college quarter credits of basic training that is STARS approved.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· Valid WDL and a safe driving record.
· First Aid Certification
· Child/Infant CPR Certified
· HIV Blood borne pathogens trained
Must obtain cleared DEL Portable background check

Substitute Therapeutic Classroom Teacher (All Branches) positions are also available and have been a way that many of our teachers started out as they pursue their education or experience to qualify for the full time Therapeutic Classroom Teachers at Childhaven. Child & Family Therapist- Auburn (2 positions)
Responsible for the provision of assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and case management services to the families enrolled in a therapeutic child care setting for abused and neglected children who are 1 month to 5 years. The Child & Family Therapists also assist the Program Director in the administration of the center.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or closely related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education from an accredited program. Preference will be given to individuals experienced in case work with disadvantaged or dysfunctional families from a variety of cultural backgrounds and those with experience in working with preschool children.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid WDL and a safe driving record with access to an insured vehicle.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor; Independent Clinical Social Worker; or Marriage & Family Therapist.
Must have current cleared portable background check through WA Department of Early Learning.
