Job description

The Contracts and Conservation Programs Coordinator will work as part of a team to write contracts for services and coordinate all administrative aspects involved in processing contracts for services, and provide administrative, research, project management and other general assistance to program staff working toward the achievement of conservation goals in Washington state.

The Contracts and Conservation Programs Coordinator is responsible for performing multiple administrative functions related to processing contracts for services for the Washington Chapter of The Nature Conservancy. S/he will be responsible for writing all contracts for services, amendments and extensions, obtaining necessary approvals, and providing guidance, training, and/or materials to staff on compliance with standard operating procedures as they relate to non-real estate contracts, interpretation of such procedures, and best practices for contracts and procurement.

The Coordinator will provide a variety of administrative and support services for conservation programs in Washington, including project management, team coordination, meeting logistics, information management, and other support as needed.

The Coordinator uses available systems and resources to maintain, track and research data. S/he applies established processes and practices in order to improve effectiveness and documents program procedures for reference by staff. S/he will coordinate activities with multiple variables, setting realistic deadlines and managing the timeline. The Coordinator may handle inquiries about business unit activities and assist in the development of program materials and correspondence. S/he will work cooperatively with Conservancy staff, providing information necessary to make decisions, solve problems and improve workflow. The Coordinator may communicate on behalf of the supervisor or other Conservancy staff with internal and external sources, including staff, donors, vendors, and business relations in order to coordinate arrangements, convey information, and ensure successful program execution.

Ideal candidate will have experience and skills that reflect the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1 year experience, Associate’s degree and 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in business or legal writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Experience organizing time and managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.
  • Experience performing one or more administrative processes.
  • Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
