Business Administration Internship Job Description
Earth Economics is a small non-profit organization located in Tacoma, Washington. We currently seek a
student as a Business Administration Assistant to join us on a limited basis.
Job Description: Provide administrative support to office operations, including some or all of the following
tasks:
Answering phones, data entry, conference coordination, meeting organizing, answering general EE
inquiries from public.
Attending local meetings with leadership or staff as available and drafting meeting notes
Coordinate, create, or update project communications including updating and compiling print
materials for events and coordinating travel.
Funding and/or ecosystem service research as assigned
Some work may be completed remotely
Qualifications:
Financial aid work-study award or be willing to volunteer;
Time Commitment: 2-10 hrs/wk
Coursework in Business Administration or Project Management.
Self-motivation and ability to work independently; Interest in learning how a non-governmental
organization (NGO) works.
Candidate should possess an interest in the intersection between environmental health,
societal health, and economic health.
Prefer sophomore or higher student.
Educational Benefits:
Students will learn about key business operations as well as the field of ecological economics — the
intersection between environmental health, societal health, and economic health. They will gain
understanding of the functions, goals, and workings of the non-profit sector, including hands-on
experience in ecological economics, environmental advocacy, coalition building and non-profit
fundraising. Depending on interest and ability, some students may be able to develop independent
research projects that support our mission.
