This position is in the Bureau of Environmental Services. The Johnson Creek Watershed Environmental Program Coordinator performs a variety of responsible, professional-level duties involved in the development, implementation and administration of a moderate- to large-scale environmental restoration and compliance program with citywide impact. The person in this position will use their considerable knowledge of environmental practices, watershed health, stormwater management and stakeholder relations to facilitate projects from concept development through implementation, cultivate positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders and effectively communicate the basis and importance of our work. The work of this position involves significant accountability and decision-making responsibilities.
 To Qualify:
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  1. Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques of natural resource protection and restoration.
  2. Knowledge of administrative principles and methods including goal setting, program development and implementation.
  3. Knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to watershed restoration and water quality issues.
  4. Experience with project management, stakeholder involvement planning and implementation, and public relations related to watershed planning, projects or programs.
  5. Experience interacting effectively, engaging in problem solving and team building, and relating positively to staff from various bureaus or agencies, citizens, and community groups in various situations, including those which may be controversial.
  6. Experience preparing clear and concise records, reports, correspondence, and presentations for a variety of audiences using exceptional oral, written and electronic media skills.
  7. Experience analyzing complex operational and administrative problems, evaluating alternatives and recom¬mending or implementing effective courses of action.
  8. Experience developing and implementing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, work standards and manage¬ment controls (including contracts, budgets and ordinances).
