StreamTeam was created in 1992 with the mission to “Bring Salmon Back to Salmon Creek” by engaging the community in watershed restoration. StreamTeam is part of Clark Public Utilities (CPU), a public agency responsible for providing drinking water to the public by protecting and improving water quality. CPU developed the Eradication Nation invasive plant control program in 2011, with the goal of bolstering commmunity participation on invasive weed control initiatives in the Salmon Creek watershed.
Six Positions – Sept 1st, 2015 to July 15th, 2016:

— RESTORATION SPECIALIST
AmeriCorps members play a vital role in connecting our programs with the public, engaging over 20,000 citizens of Clark County annually on environmental issues facing our community. As the face of StreamTeam, members facilitate rewarding volunteer opportunities such as tree plantings, water quality monitoring, invasive plant surveys and control, and outreach events. Members also educate students in the community about watershed health and water conservation. Since its inception StreamTeam planted over 850,000 native plants, stabilized over 2 miles of eroding stream banks and managed over 400 acres of invasive plants. These positions are contingent on funding.
