The Audubon Society of Portland’s Education Department provides a broad mix of free and fee-based programs for youth and adults. With an annual budget of ~$1,000,000, the department directly reaches approximately 15,000 youth annually through a variety of classroom and field-based programs. For adults, Audubon delivers a host of classes as well as regional and international tours. The aim of these programs is to inspire people of all ages to enjoy, understand, and protect nature.

The Education Program Assistant is a new position reporting to the Education Director. It will be a central member of the Education Team, primarily providing office, administrative, and customer support. Responsibilities will include registration for youth and adult programming, fielding phone calls, assembling educational materials, and a variety of duties to improve and enhance the Education Department’s customer service. In addition to office and computer skills, the ideal candidate will have demonstrable passion for environmental education and the capacity to support classes and youth field trips.

The starting salary range for this position is $28,000 – $32,000, depending on experience.
