Montana State Parks AmeriCorps is NOW HIRING full-time 44 week, 1700 hour AmeriCorps positions based across the State of Montana.

Our Mission
Montana State Parks AmeriCorps promotes healthy, active, and environmentally aware communities by enhancing park land, enriching educational opportunities, increasing volunteerism, and improving community outreach in state parks.
Our Members
Montana State Park AmeriCorps members love the outdoors and are passionate about improving opportunities for others to experience all that the state parks have to offer. They create educational programs, highlight park activities, and develop volunteer opportunities that get more people involved and excited about experiencing the outdoors. Members come from diverse backgrounds and include: college students, recent graduates, teachers, retirees, and others with a desire to serve. Some already live in a community surrounding a state park where they will serve, while others will travel from across the country to live and work in a brand new place. Members range in age from young adults to retired, but all members are at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. Most have at least some college experience.
Our Work
Service terms take place amid the stunning scenery, dazzling waters, geologic wonders, and cultural history of Montana’s State Parks. These parks are located across the state, and members will serve at individual parks according to their preferences and skills. Activities will include a variety of projects, such as: leading nature hikes and campfire talks, improving educational displays at visitor centers, planning outdoor volunteer projects, representing state parks at community events, participating in statewide training and volunteer opportunities.
Benefits
Montana State Parks AmeriCorps offers benefits including: $12,530 living stipend paid in bi-weekly
increments over the course of the Term of Service; $5,730 Education Award upon successful completion of
Term of Service; guaranteed health benefits and child care assistance if qualified.
Also, receive Certified Interpretive Guide training; experience and training working in the fields of outdoor recreation, parks management, interpretive services, education, and community outreach, and volunteer management; and the opportunity to live, work and be part of the team amid the natural wonders and cultural heritage of Montana State Parks.

Bannack State Park near Dillon – with over 60 abandoned buildings it is one of the best persevered ghost towns in the west
Chief Plenty Coups State Park in Pryor – encircled by the Crow Indian reservation the park is located on Chief Plenty Coups’ original allotment with original log cabin, medicine spring, and family gravesite
First People’s Buffalo Jump State Park near Great Falls — an important Native American archaeological sites with possibly the largest bison cliff jump in North America between Great Falls and the majestic Rocky Mountain Front
Lone Pine State Park near Kalispell—neighbor to dramatic Glacier National Park with an interactive visitor center, exceptional scenic overlooks, and over 7 miles of hiking trails
Milltown State Park near Missoula— an exciting new State Park located near the bustling town of Missoula with a rich cultural heritage and ecological impact.
Travelers’ Rest State Park in Lolo—down the road from Missoula, the Garden City, and Lewis and Clarks only scientifically verified campsite
MSPA Team Leader in Helena — at the Headquarters for Montana State Parks and time to explore the capitol city of Montana and surrounding areas
