EPA is seeking young adults, ages 18 to 29, who are involved in climate change efforts and/or advocacy, to apply to be a part of 15 member “first–of–its–kind” youth-led advisory work group to assist the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council (NEJAC) in developing advice and recommendations to help EPA in developing best practices to address climate change concerns.
In an interview EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy had with Grist about the Workgroup, she emphasized how important this opportunity is, stating, “This is the first time I think we’re going to formally try to give young people a real voice in the types of decisions that the EPA is making, and in particular on the issue of climate justice.”
I’m sure you know one or two young leaders who you think would be great for helping inform EPA on how the agency can work better with young people on climate change. Please help us reach as many of those young leaders as possible! We are looking forward to working with a geographically diverse group of emerging thought leaders in the climate change space.
