The Forestry and Natural Resources (FNR) Extension Program is seeking an Oregon Environmental Literacy Project Program Coordinator. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Associate Dean of Outreach and Engagement.

This position will plan, organize, coordinate, and evaluate projects of the Oregon Environmental Literacy Program (OELP), a statewide outreach and education program. The incumbent will work collaboratively with the OELP Council and the Oregon State University (OSU) Leadership Team to coordinate priority projects and activities which will include statewide outreach events focused on outdoor education. This position will plan, monitor and report program performance against program goals and objectives and ensure results are reported. Position will interact with internal and external program or project stakeholders to build program support.

Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Resources, Environmental Education, K-12 Education or related field.

Two or more years of experience in the field of Environmental Education, Interpretation, Natural Resources, Biology, Ecology, or a science-related field, with at least one year working in the K-12 education field (formal or non-formal setting).

Skill with spreadsheets, database and word processing.

One year or more of experience managing projects and events which include multiple stakeholders or partners.

Experience with web-based and on-line tools such as WebX, Google Docs, etc.

Experience working with individuals and communities representing diverse social, economic, and/or cultural backgrounds.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.

This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU 576-056-0000 et seq.
