Job description

The Department of the Interior is partnering with YMCA and The Corps Network to bring First Lady Michelle Obama’s ‘Let’s Move! Outside’ initiative to Seattle. Outside’ Youth Initiative Community Coordinator by working with the Camping and Outdoor Leadership YMCA staff, community partners and volunteers to ensure fidelity of the Initiative. The position will serve from July 2016 to June 2017.

The Community Connections Corpsmember will support the YMCA Community Coordinator in the following areas:

  • Reach out to community groups to promote programming, participation and collaboration via a launch event and a summit
  • Facilitate engagement with public land management agencies and partnering organizations to identify existing gaps in outdoor programming
  • Promote programming that addresses these gaps and connects youth to the outdoors to play, learn, serve, and work
