Status: Seasonal – Full Time/Hourly
Job Responsibilities: Candidates will be expected to perform skilled field activities in support of the US Army’s Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) Program at the Yakima Training Center, WA. LRAM projects are varied and include the repair of degraded maneuver trails; maintenance, construction, and installation of Seibert stakes; and erosion control activities requiring hand seeding and installation of mats and wattles. Additional projects encompass the enhancement of training lands and maneuver land repairs, exotic species management, harvesting of native seed, preparing ground surfaces for revegetation, and collecting GPS data to record future land enhancement projects. Extensive work with hand tools will be required. Must possess adept map reading skills, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. Experience operating and maintaining 4×4 trucks is necessary and a mechanical aptitude is required.
Qualifications: This position requires work to be performed in remote outdoor conditions of varied terrain and adverse weather conditions. Ability to transport heavy loads (up to 50lbs) is necessary. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions, follow safety rules, and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers.
