The Field Organizer will work with Audubon chapters, partners, supporters, and volunteers to accomplish conservation and engagement victories in communities in Eastern Washington. S/He will be highly energetic, adaptable, relationship-oriented, and a results-driven team player who engages volunteers and community organizations in action and advocacy, from events and volunteer days to recruitment drives and phone banking. The Field Organizer will also help train and build the capacity of volunteers and local leaders and serve as a vital link in bringing Audubon’s ambitious conservation-focused strategic plan to life in communities from coast to coast and in making Audubon the most effective conservation network in America
This is a “remote worker position” and may be located in or around either Ellensburg or Wenatchee, Washington.
Essential Functions:
- Build and deepen relationships with Audubon chapters, volunteer leaders, and other partners
- Focus on community-level implementation of 3-4 campaigns as part of Audubon’s Climate Initiative
- Expand network of Audubon supporters, volunteers, and partners through recruitment and partnership building to meet quarterly growth goals
- Engage the local Audubon network in conservation, engagement, and advocacy activities – including conducting or coordinating necessary trainings – to meet quarterly participation and outcome goals in key campaigns
- Coordinate and staff events and activities, from volunteer days to phone banks
- Support and build capacity of volunteer leaders
- Work with volunteers and partners to raise the profile of Audubon’s work and mission in the community through presentations, earned media, and other outreach activities
- Deliver input from volunteers and partners to Field Organizing Manager and other Audubon leaders to help inform strategies
- Work closely with Washington State Chapter Conservation Manager and national Field Organizing Manager to execute on goals
