This fall, Bard CEP’s National Climate Seminar offers a bi-weekly series focused on environmental politics. Join us at noon eastern, via dial-in or webinar for these important conversations. Eban Goodstein will kick things off next week. 9/7, with a discussion on the history of environmental politics. The period from 1970-1992 saw major US national legislation on topics ranging from clean water to climate change. Since 1994, the country has passed no significant environmental laws, and the dialog on the environment has become extremely partisan. What is the cause of this divide, and what are the prospects for the future?
Two weeks later (9/21) author Fred Rich will continue the theme of rebuilding bipartisan support for climate action, discussing his new book Getting to Green. Additional seminars, including with Dallas Burtraw and Bill McKibben, are also listed at the website.
The seminar format is 15 minutes of presentation followed by 45 minutes of Q&A, including questions from the national audience, so please invite your students to participate. All seminars are archived as podcasts or webinars.
